Available in its own wooden case, this magnum Montecucco Poggio Lombrone is a pure Sangiovese estate cru and the ultimate symbol of ColleMassari's regenerative project

ColleMassari is the most important and largest estate of the Montecucco appellation in central Tuscany. The vineyards are located on the Montecucco hill that gives name to the appellation. The vines on the Montecucco hill are the oldest Sangiovese vines of the DOCG
The 2019 Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva Poggio Lombrone opens slowly in the glass. It entices with a whiff of sweet spices and dusty rose before giving way to blackberries and hints of cocoa. This is pure elegance, with streamlined acidity and ripe wild berry fruits that envelop the palate. A web of fine-grained tannins remains, along with a saturation of primary fruits and a tinge of spice. The 2019 tapers off with dramatic length and concentration. This is still a baby and possesses the balance for a long and fruitful evolution.
93/100 Falstaff
Tre Bicchieri - Gambero Rosso
As does the winemaker, we too recommend decanting the 2020 for 1 hour to 1.5 hours
Goes well with game, as e.g. local preparations of wild boar, roast, braised and stewed red meats, and medium aged cheese.
