A truly remarkable Bolgheri Rosso Superiore with great thickness, density and smoothness.
This wine is very different from the company's flagship, the Bolgheri Superiore Grattamacco. The vines are planted according to the Alberello system in a special symmetrical grid, so that each plant enjoys the same exposure. The blend is composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc.
The wine comes from a two-hectare plot entirely planted with long rows of saplings, which are located at an altitude of 30 meters above sea level on mainly clayey soils. Fermentation takes place in steel and the wine ages for 18 months in barrique. This vintage is very generous and broad in terms of aroma and texture, with finely tuned tannins. This Bolgheri Rosso Superiore "L’Alberello" is aged in barriques for 18 months and during this time it develops balsamic sensations of mint and r notes of spice and licorice.
James Suckling desribes the wine as 'A nice clean black fruit character in this full bodied and dense red wine. It also offers notes of dark chocolate, cardamom and fresh fenugreek seeds. The tannins are well incorporated into the structure and an eye catcher in the wine. The fruit is persistent The finish is long and solidifies towards the end. From organically grown grapes. Cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. This wine is very impressive now, but will sit in the bottle for a few more years. But now it is very tempting'
