Sangiovese Rosso, Rosso Riserva Castello ColleMassari Italy 2020
The 2020 Montecucco Rosso Riserva lifts from the glass with a whiff of reduction that slowly blows off to reveal an herbal-tinged mix of wild strawberries, cedar and spice. This is rich and velvety, with masses of ripe red fruits and tactile mineral tones complicated by a note of sage. Brisk acidity maintains balance. It tapers off with a woody sensation, like a pine spice box, as hints of chalk dust and inner rose fade. The warmth of the vintage imparted a fleshy, nearly opulent character to the Rosso Riserva., a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Ciliegiolo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drinking window: 2024-2032.
Malbec, Casa Ambrosia,Mendoza Argentina 2022
Produced at an altitude of 1250m, this is a young wine with a pure expression of the fruit which makes it a friendly, young, oak-free Malbec with an excellent price-quality ratio. On the nose it has a beautiful expression with notes of raspberry jam, ripe cherries and blueberries. On the palate, the wine is lively and fruity, with a great density and typicity of Malbec. The Tannins are moderate, ripe and silky, complementing the overall appeal of the wine.
La Parrazal, Comte de Thun, Gaillac France 2012
An expressive combination of base wines from younger vines of the Comte de Thun Crus. "La Parrazal" reflects the characteristic features of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet franc and Syrah as well as the unique terroir of the Plateau Cordais.It's aromas are uniquely Syrah with red fruits, cassis and spice, but on the palate the there is an abundance of preserved dark fruits and a little black olives with earthy notes, as well as bacon, tobacco and pepper.The wine is ripe, juicy and somewhat warm with polished, chocolatey tannins and delicately peppery notes with a touch of saltiness in the background.
