Rich, sun-soaked reds with layered aromas of cherry, dried herbs, and gentle spice; a harmonious duo that captures the warm elegance of Tuscany.

Sangiovese Rosso, Rosso Riserva Castello ColleMassari Italy 2020

The organic Montecucco Rosso Riserva 2020 is a highly intriguing wine: full and juicy, a drink of great contrast and flavor, with airy, defined aromas that summon fresh cherry and pepper. It lifts from the glass with a whiff of reduction that slowly blows off to reveal an herbal-tinged mix of wild strawberries, cedar and spice. This is rich and velvety, with masses of ripe red fruits and tactile mineral tones complicated by a note of sage. Brisk acidity maintains balance. It tapers off with a woody sensation, like a pine spice box, as hints of chalk dust and inner rose fade. The warmth of the vintage imparted a fleshy, nearly opulent character to the Rosso Riserva., a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Ciliegiolo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drinking window: 2024-2032.

Poggio Lombrone, Sangiovese Riserva ColleMassari Italy 2018

crafted from unique heritage strains of Sangiovese. These biotypes, while genetically similar, each bring a distinct natural variation that contributes to the wine’s depth and complexity.

The Sangiovese vines used for Poggio Lombrone have been part of the estate since its acquisition by the Tipa family. Over time, they have shown an exceptional adaptation to climate change, resulting in a balanced wine that embodies elegance without signs of stress, evoking a Brunello-esque character.

Poggio Lombrone’s remarkable complexity is achieved through traditional fermentation in open wooden vats, followed by 30 months of aging in oak barrels. This meticulous process imbues the wine with rich layers of texture, vibrant color, and a captivating array of flavors and aromas.
