The Chablis 1er Cru Grande Cuvée from La Chablisienne shines in a clear straw yellow with light golden reflections in the glass. The nose is characterised by floral aromas such as white flowers, ripe pears and juicy citrus notes. This fruity Chardonnay aroma is underpinned by a very fine wood note and a slightly chalky minerality. On the palate the Chablis is powerful with dominant citrus aromas, pears and summer apples. Slight hints of herbs, a very well integrated oak wood note and a lively acidity give the French white wine a very interesting complexity and fullness. In the finish very elegant and with a salty minerality.
The Grande Cuvée is left for approximately 12 months on fine lees, in tanks and barrels and is a classic complex Chablis, considered to be the little brother of the well known Grand Cru Les Grenouilles.
Drink over the next 10 years.
Food Pairing: Oysters are an amazing pairing, but goes well with most seafood and shellfish, as well as chicken and poultry dishes
